General information

Sensei Sparks is a 2nd Degree Joe Lewis Fighting Systems Black Belt and Purple Belt in Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. He received his certificate from Joe Lewis and is the ONLY 2nd Degree JLFS Black Belt in the Charlotte Area. Sensei Sparks has a background in education. While attending La Salle University he studied a double Major in Elementary and Special Education. This allows for some of the best children and youth programs offered in the area. Sensei Sparks is a former Full Contact MMA Fighter, Karate Champion, Naga Champion, Kickboxer and Amateur Boxer. He currently still competes at the highest level of BJJ at IBJJF events throughout the year. Sensei Sparks has over 29 years of Martial Arts training including: Karate, Kickboxing, Aikido, Submission Grappling, Boxing and Jiu-Jitsu.Sensei Sparks continues to train under the supervision of Steve Snyder, 1st Degree Black Belt under 8x World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu champion Master Robson Moura. Professor Snyder is a 5th Degree Black Belt in the Joe Lewis Fighting Systems. Our adult program is a blend of Karate, KickBoxing and, Aikido. This allows students to become well rounded martial artists and prepares them to defend themselves in any situation.
