NPIP 51-564 We are a small, local, chicken business specializing in coop ready heritage breed pullets. We also have hens available ranging in age from day old chicks to ready-to-lay hens. Once they are 28 days old, most young hens do not require supplemental heat, and are ready for your coop! Although raising day old chicks is a novel experience, it gets old quickly. They require constant monitoring for feed, water, litter, correct temperature… plus the hassle of dangling a heat lamp and dealing with poop, which gets everything, and the dust that goes everywhere. Only to find out you have roosters in your flock! Why not let us at Marker 99 handle the initial “dirty work?” It is surprisingly expensive to order just a few chicks from an online hatchery. At the Crossing at Marker 99 we are able to raise approximately 450 birds every four weeks or so. We would love to handle your small or large order to start your flock, and continue to supply you with layers and broilers for your own laying or meat bird operation. We have year round production capability but only keep stock from March through November. The usual suspects (breeds) are Australorps, Barred Rocks, Buff Orpingtons, and Rhode Island Reds, but also often offer Welsummers, Light Brahmas, Jersey Giants, Easter Eggers and Turkens.
